this is a page for my favourite new music artists: ryan adams, john mayer, jack johnson and howie day.

ryan adams isn't entirely new on the music circuit. he was the leader of the alternative country band, whiskeytown, since 1997.  his style is so varied it's a nice refreshment to listen to his music. songs off of his GOLD album include: the ballad for the late poet, sylvia plath; the tribute song for new york city, new york new york, a song that appeared at the end of the blockbuster behind enemy lines, rescue blues, a song that i personally think is about prostitution, tina toledo's street walking blues; the ridiculously 9 min. 34 sec. long nobody girl. there's a variety of music from that doesn't really even sound like country.

john mayer, born in conn. but a resident of atlanta georgia. was an aspiring blues guitarist by the time he was in his teens. his first major record release was off of columbia called ROOM FOR SQUARES. his most recent single release is your body is a wonderland which is my least favourite track of the cd. ROOM FOR SQUARES has thirteen track of which include very elaborate and great songs about general things like driving down the highway, or returning to the place where you grew up, traveling, the indoors...etc... if i were i would definately try out this rising star.

jack johnson is probably my favourite of these four. his songs... oh... there's just something about them. i might put a link in for you guys to check out his songs... because...personally...i can't describe his music. he was born and raised in hawaii.  he was one of the best junior sufers in the world, but then he turned his interests to music and film-making. his debut album is BRUSHFIRE FAIRYTALES.  his music is very acoustic, but moving.  good tunes... all of them... all right, drink the water, mud football, it's all understood and inaudible melodies.  

howie day is a twenty-one year old from maine.  his style is dark, but catchy. the music is simple and down-to-earth. he has the 'to die for' looks that only some would dream of.  he is a talented songwriter.  the first song of his i ever heard was ghost in october of 2001.  i had downloaded it for a book report.  what a coinciedence.  check out howie day's debut album, AUSTRALIA.  look for these songs: she says, secret, and ghost.
